Physical Therapy Services for Head and Neck Pain
Even if you have already tried physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic care, massage and medication, and been told to just "manage it", this could still work for you.
Initial Evaluation & Treatment
90 mins | $275
A different level of physical therapy than you’ve ever had. Each evaluation includes:
Paperwork review & symptom check-in
Range of motion tests (neck, jaw, etc.)
Whole-body education: understand why it hurts (not just what)
Discussion of contributing factors like gut health, hormone shifts, and perimenopause
Hands-on care: soft tissue work, joint manipulation, and dry needling (if appropriate) for lasting pain management support
Custom exercise plan: the final leg of the “three-legged stool” to support long-term rehabilitation of injury.

Initial Evaluation & Treatment
90 mins | $275
You'll leave with a clear assessment, a personalized plan, and your first treatment already done. Here is what happens in your first 90 minutes:
Range of motion tests and measurement
Discussion of contributing factors such as gut health, hormone shifts and perimenopause
Whole-body education: understand why it hurts and what's causing it
Hands-on care: soft tissue work, joint manipulation, and dry needling (if desired)*
Personalized exercise plan to support long-term rehabilitation
*Dry needling is always optional and will only be performed with your consent.
Treatment with Dr. Blanchard, PT, DPT
Three types of session, each designed for a different stage of your recovery.

Service 1:
Manual Therapy
Hands-on treatment to improve your motion, decrease pain, and release areas that don't move as well.
-
Gentle pressure applied to soft tissue (think kneading, like making bread) to release areas of tightness and restriction
-
Joint mobilization to restore natural range of motion in the neck, jaw and surrounding structures
-
Fascial stretching to release connective tissue that has become tight or restricted over time

Service 2:
Joint Manipulation
A precise, controlled movement that releases pressure in a joint and triggers your body's natural pain relief.
-
A quick, targeted movement producing the familiar "pop" sound (similar to cracking your knuckles). That sound is simply gas releasing from the joint, not bones cracking
-
Manipulation prompts the body to release natural pain relievers, which is why it often brings immediate relief
-
All techniques are performed by a specialist trained and certified in cervical and craniofacial manipulation

Service 3:
Dry Needling
Ultra-fine needles placed into muscle tissue to release tension, reduce pain, and support nervous system recovery.
-
Why needles instead of hands? Because needles reach areas that hands cannot, causing tight muscles to release immediately
-
Targets trigger points (hypersensitive muscle knots that cause pain, stiffness, and restrict movement) and stimulates them to release and return to their normal, relaxed state
-
Prompts the nervous system to release natural pain-relieving endorphins, reducing the source of pain
