ABOUT

Dr. Blanchard at the American Academy of Orofacial Pain

Dr. Erienne Blanchard, PT

I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a passion for helping people get back to their daily lives without pain. I began working with patients with neck pain while in graduate school. The more I worked with patients with neck pain, the more patients I saw who also had jaw pain, headaches, and dizziness. This led me to expand my education to include the jaw and head in addition to the upper cervical spine. I gained board certification in orthopedics and craniofacial to ensure I deliver the most current evidence-based care. I love learning and never stop striving to find new ways to benefit my patients.

I believe in an integrative approach that involves the help of many health care practitioners. Therapy with me includes screening and assistance connecting with dentists, oral surgeons, neurologists, primary care providers, counselors, and more. To deliver the best care, we must work together to help all of you.

I have extensive education, training, and certification in addition to my 12 years in practice.

  • PT, DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy)

  • 2011, University of Florida.

  • I was born and raised in Gainesville, FL and relish helping my community stay out of pain so they can focus on their activities.

  • OCS (Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist)

  • 2021, American Physical Therapy Association. This board certification demonstrates my proficiency in orthopedic physical therapy. The OCS certification is monitored and maintained yearly to provide the most current treatments.

  • CMPT (Certified Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapist)

  • 2015, Florida Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy.

  • This year-long program includes manipulation, soft tissue mobilization, taping, and exercise. As a CMPT, I have many techniques that focus my exercises on the very specific areas of dysfunction for each patient.

  • CFC (Certified CranioFacial)

  • 2017, University of St. Augustine.

  • This certification is the foundation of my speciality. The CFC certification involves practical and hands-on learning with specific education in imaging, manipulation, mobilization, diagnostics, and evaluation of the head, neck, jaw, upper cervical spine, and pain conditions as well as post-operative

  • Cert. DN (Certified Dry Needling)

  • 2021, American Academy of Manipulative Therapy. This certification includes 50 hours in a hands-on classroom setting followed by 25 needle sessions under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. I am licensed under the state to perform dry needling for all regions of the body, especially the head, neck, and face.

  • CCTT (Certified Cervical & Temporomandibular Therapist)

  • 2023, Physical Therapy Board of Craniofacial and Cervical Therapeutics (AAOP).

  • The CCTT is the pinnacle of my educational achievement as a craniofacial therapist. This certification demonstrates that I am a facial pain specialist within the field of physical therapy. It is recognized by the American Academy of Orofacial Pain (a group of health care specialists that provide research and education from dentistry, oral surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, ENT, speech therapy, etc.).

  • Vestibular Specialist- Emory/Duke Universities

  • 2019, Emory/Duke Universities.

  • This speciality focuses on diagnosis and treatment of peripheral and central causes of dizziness. I treat many diagnoses of dizziness directly, and can make referrals and work directly with ENT's in their diagnosis.

  • Adjunct Clinical Faculty-University of Florida Doctorate of Physical Therapy

  • 2016-present, University of Florida Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

  • I am an adjunct lecturer within the DPT program and a lead member of the Medical Screening for Referral, teaching students when a patient should be treated by PT or when they should be referred based on their clinical presentation. I also assist with Manual Therapy and Therapeutic Exercise Prescription.
